Project conceptGet back to the origin of “Food, clothing and housing” through “producing something”.
Village building project

Village building project

We consider the origin to live of “food, clothing and housing” across boundaries of generations and areas such as children, adults, society and disaster-hit victims. We have an ambition to create exciting and relaxing “space” that everyone can have an actual experience, learn things and relax. We are general incorporated association that consists of 12 women executives.

Message to the children

Hello, kids,
Let’s go on an exciting adventure!
Shout out loud, you don’t need to hesitate!
We shall plant potatoes, and make french-fries !
But not now. Maybe after 4 months?
Why don’t you plant cotton, too? You can make T-shirt that everyone wears with it!
But it’s not also now, it’s after two years.
Give it a try to rice planting. You all like rice balls very much, straw remains after you took rice away. So let’s make a straw house!
Do you know Three Little Pigs story?
A wolf blows the house off but it’s easy to make.
You cannot do it alone but you can do it if your friends help you.

Come and follow me!

Spin thread from cotton fiber

Spin thread from cotton fiber

Ekodomo private tutoring school grows organic cottons with Shinshu university faculty of textile science and technology. We grow it by agricultural method that doesn’t use chemical agents and chemical fertilizer. So it’s a series of trial and error until we can understand “how to work with” Komoro’s climate and soil. We are thinking of holding a workshop in the future that people can have an experience from seeding to producing items.

From the field to tables

From the field to tables

We don’t have so many chances to use soil. We don’t think how the crops are harvested, processed and delivered to our tables. We just consume the food in supermarkets. “Boo Foo Woo Village” managed by Ekodomo private tutoring school provides the service to have an experience to go to the field, touch soil, plants, insects and take care of crops. Your interest in food will be heightened if you know how the crops you grew becomes “food”.

HousingHouse

Build a house by yourself

Build a house by yourself

Ekodomo private tutoring school holds a workshop to build houses with professional architect’s advice and support. Straw house is built in 2013, wooden house in 2014, brick house in 2015 in accordance with “Boo Foo Woo Three Little Pigs” fairy tale. The experience to build houses should be the power to live.

Requests for donation

“Exciting, relaxing Ekodomo private tutoring school” raises donation.

This is still very small project but we’d like to make it continue over 20 years. We’d like to make it the place where a lot of people visit, relax and get back to the origin of “living a life”. We’d also like to have children learn various exciting things. We need your help.
